Reiki (pronounced ray-key) is a Japanese healing technique that promotes relaxation, reduces stress, and encourages the body’s natural healing process. The word “Reiki” is made of two Japanese words – “rei” meaning “universal life” and “ki” meaning “energy”. Reiki practitioners channel this universal life force energy to help restore balance and well-being.
Reiki was developed in the early 20th century by Japanese Buddhist Mikao Usui. After a profound spiritual experience, Usui dedicated himself to sharing this healing practice. He taught Reiki to many students, and the practice gradually spread throughout Japan and eventually around the world.

During a Reiki session, I simply place my hands on or above your body, channeling the universal life force energy to promote healing and balance.
You will remain fully clothed and will usually lay on your back on a massage table or sit comfortably on a chair.
I hover my hands over each of the body’s energy centres called Chakras. I evaluate each one and remove any blocks by completing chakra clearing. Sometimes, this involves me placing crystals on the clients body to enhance the positive energy needed to bring calm and rebalance.
Sessions typically last 60-90 minutes, but the effects can continue to be felt long after the session is complete.
